"You did something stupid, didn't you?" Professor Professor said.
"No," Victor said. "It all happened in a series of events and I-" everyone gave him
a look - "I stepped on it, okay? It was the middle of the night and it was dark."
"Well, now you're stuck with this belt," Anita said. "I hope you'll be more careful
next time."

For the rest of the day, Professor Professor gave him the cold shoulder.
"What's his problem?" Victor asked Anita.
"You broke your belt," Anita said. "Now he has to fix it. Wouldn't you be upset?"
"I wouldn't be upset with me," Victor said. "No one can be upset with ME. At least
not for too long." Anita laughed. He had a point, not that she would ever admit it.
"Well, I was right," Anita said.
"About what?" Victor asked.
"Pink certainly does look good on you," Anita grinned.
